The Bahamas is a coral-based archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean. Its 700 or more islands and cays run from uninhabited to filled with resorts. The northernmost, Grand Bahama, and Paradise Island, home to some enormous inns, are among the best-known scuba diving and swimming destinations incorporating the monstrous Andros Barrier Reef, Thunderball Grotto (utilized in James Bond films) and the dark coral gardens off Bimini.
